So I figured I’d give a quick update, I still haven’t really worked a lot on my market analyzer, and as I’m too fucking lazy to do anything that might take a while.
I did get some decent profits on some random items again now, though I’m not really actively working the market at the moment (Because it’s a pain without a decent scanning tool).
Anyway, I’m off, still need to sell this big stack of ammo I have left.

So I’ve been attempting to make some money trading lately (Station trading that is), and figured that manually searching the market for items is just too time consuming (And as time is money). So I’ve started programming my own cache parser and analyser.
So far the cache reading part works, and uploading through http works too (Even though it’s just 1 executable that might come in handy if someone wants to use it for his own website or something), I’ve also written a crude plugin-esque thing to allow for easily adding more analysing modules.
So far I’ve thought of the 2 following things to analyse the market, would love to know the things you came up with to analyse it.
Simple volume based calculation
When an item gets uploaded get the highest buy order and lowest sell order, calculate the difference, and multiply that by half of the average volume of the last 5 days.
This is something that’s quite easy to implement and it’s the first (And only thing for now) that I’ll add.
Advanced prediction/snapshot based calculations
This is something I’ve given a good thought and involves comparing multiple snapshots of the same item in order to determine the buy and sell averages. This is quite tricky as you need to account for disappearing orders which can be caused by either it selling out or people cancelling it.
This would give a pretty good estimation of how much profit there can be made with this item, more accurate as the simple calculation, however this is not so trivial to implement.

So how do the other traders analyse the market ?

Since we were deployed into a null-sec area near high-sec for a week now I’ve had the chance to do things in empire again. I haven’t been to empire in a few months except the one or two runs to get some blueprints.
As I wanted to make some quick money I decided to check for a good agent again (Can only do level 3 missions) and settled in that system. The station my mission agent was in also had about 50 free production slots (And about 10 free PE slots) so I decided to invest some of the money I made with the missions into manufacturing and research.
After researching some profitable items I headed into Jita to get the blueprints and materials (Fortunately we weren’t wardecced at that time), after hauling them back I started the manufacturing jobs and waited for them to complete.
I hauled them back into Jita once they completed and behold my first manufacturing profit, a nice 1M ISK (Gotta start somewhere).
I’ll be keeping one of my clones in high-sec now to jump back and forth between high-sec and null-sec, currently I’m preparing for another production run, this one lasting 3 days and netting me about 30m profits (20m investment, 50m return).
I’ll keep you posted on how this production run will turn out.

<p style="text-align:center;"
I’ve been interested in manufacturing for a while now and have recently created a lot of items to put on the market in Cobalt Edge, I brought numerous BPOs down here and luckily enough I didn’t get shot. A total of 32 blueprints now with the most expensive one being a Blackbird.
So now I’ve put everything on the market and for the past days the orders slowly got bought up, I haven’t made a lot yet (About 6 million ISK) but it’s a start, I still need to improve my skills (Especially Production Efficiency as I don’t have it yet) and Mass Production/Retail.
I’ll be training my skills, researching my BPOs and manufacturing stuff and make more money and of course report it back here, my alt will be a great helping hauling everything back and forth, and even helping to clear rats in a drake.

After spending around 2 months in null-sec the 800m ISK I had accumulated through GTCs has run out, and now I’m looking for ways to make some decent money down here.
So I thought why not ask my readers (and fellow bloggers) for advice, and perhaps even create a guide from the info gathered.
So first I’m going to list some ideas I had and the problems I encountered with them
Cosmic Anomalies/Signatures
I’ve been doing anomalies for a while now and we recently got an upgrade to our system that allows for Drone Hordes to spawn.
However the hordes are impossible to solo at my skill level with an hurricane (even lost one), and doing them in a group isn’t really that profitable. I’ve also been doing drone squads but the alloys/salvage per anomaly is at max 2m which isn’t a lot considering they take about 45-60 minutes to complete for me. And finally there’s also the Drone Hierarchies but they can’t be solo’ed either.
(Ice) Mining
Though this is quite profitable in null-sec it can’t be done alone (unless in a hulk with a good tank) and there’s also the problem of the reds.
Archaeology/Hacking
Quite profitable too but I can’t find a decent Hurricane setup with salvager, codebreaker and analyzer (if you have one please share it with me).
…
Well that was it, after reading through it myself it seems my primary problem is the lack of skills, and I might have forgotten some other methods of making money down here.
Well If you have any suggestions pleaee leave a comment, thanks.
