Roam Report: 01/05/113YC – Boredom

By Xeross Posted in EVE Online, Pew Pew Comments (1)
Thanks for the Rorqual guys!

So we’ve recently been playing around with our Intrepid Crossing friends in Cobalt Edge, we’ve had a few nice roams and even got a free Rorqual (Thanks guys!), but recently it seems IRC can’t be bothered to fight, whether it’s their tactic to bore us to death, they just can’t be arsed, or I just pick the wrong roams, I dunno.

Anyway today’s roam started out in VFK, luckily there were Maelstroms available again so I quickly purchased one, got my ammo and headed on out, after rallying all gates were green until Cobalt Edge.

After waiting for everyone to arrive we roamed around for a bit as there had been reports of carriers and alike being around somewhere, they however decided to stay inside the safety of a POS shield so we had to somehow aggravate IRC to come play.

This basically boils down to reinforcing various things such as their jump bridges, stations and alike, aka your average boat op. After having reinforced various structures around cobalt edge, and even paying a visit to their staging system of E-BYOS nothing came out to play.

Well nothing, a small bomber gang did come play, they should be proud that they managed to kill a few Rifters while only losing about 8 bombers, other than that we managed to kill some idiots that were AFK in a POS by bumping them out, so nothing really exciting.

After having incapacitated another part of their jump bridge network and putting an iHub and station into reinforced we decided to go home as they didn’t want to come out and play, so my Maelstrom will live to die in a horrible fire another day.

Roam Report: 29/03/113YC – Back again

By Xeross Posted in EVE Online, Pew Pew Leave a Comment

So yeah, as  was stated in the previous micro-post on this blog I have reactivated my EVE subscription, well for my main account, my alt was still active.

Luckily there was a roam planned this evening (Even though some lazy faggot forgot to put it up on the calendar) and I just decided to hop in. And luckily the preferred ship type was a Drake.

Made sure it was reimbursement fit, stocked up on ammo and drones, and off we went.

Went to the staging POS, waited for 45 minutes to leave, and headed on out. Multiple jump-bridges and jumps later we find ourselves in the beautiful Fountain.

After jumping around a bit these people that seem to be members of the River Styx. engaged(And probably some other random people). They kept moving away from us but luckily their logistics didn’t do well and we managed to pop a few, until most of  ’em fled the battlefield.

I managed to get in on 2 of the 4-5 killmails (Might be more, I suck at counting this shit apparently). And if I recall correctly an allied fleet jumped in to help (I should really start taking notes during this kind of shit so I can get a decent report up).

After that some jumping around occured and ended up in finding nothing, after this we headed home and because I was distracted for some reason I ended up being 10 jumps behind and the damn node crashed (DB apparently fucked up according to CCP).

When the node came back online I found myself on a gate with a neutral Vagabond luckily it didn’t seem to chase me (Not sure how effective a Vaga is against a Drake anyway), and I managed to jump my way back home.

Definitely going to try and roam more actively, fun stuff.

Anyway, Xeross out.

Roam Report: 16/02/2011 – Continued…

By Xeross Posted in EVE Online, Pew Pew Leave a Comment

So after my double frigate fail I found myself back in my home station, luckily a few minutes after being back they decided to switch to something bigger, and engage anything we find (we had back-up in case).

After getting everyone together we started chasing the same gang that killed me before that (And that was trying to destroy our frigate roam), they kept running away, even though they were outnumbering us.

We did manage to trap a few of them so I got a couple of kills so all in all a good way to end the night.

We continued to chase them around for a while, but eventually they gave up and disbanded, while we were hoping for a full on fight.

Now onto the next roam…

Roam Report: 16/02/2011 – Frigate Failure

By Xeross Posted in EVE Online, Pew Pew Leave a Comment

We had some kind of frigate roam today, so I decided to hop along, however as they were crossing high-sec (And I have a sec status of -7) I had to wait in a low-sec system to catch up.

So they were sitting in Torrinos and I thought it was low-sec, but yeah it wasn’t. Bye Rifter.

After that I continued to the next waypoint because I’d get a new Rifter there, after that we jumped into PF-346, and due to my failure to communicate I stayed in PF- on the gate we came in through.

Only to suddenly hear the scout shouting a 12 man gang was incoming, I managed to GTFO and warp to Planet 1. And then I somehow came up with the brilliant plan to just warp to the FD-MLJ gate, and this and somehow this was the result.

So back in my home system now, done for tonight, at least sort of had fun, perhaps I can stay alive for actual pewpew next time.

Your move Molle

By Xeross Posted in EVE Online, Pew Pew Leave a Comment

So yesterday evening IT attempted to take back control of PNQY-Y, however their plans didn’t work out as they didn’t even manage to bring enough people to the fight.

Bringing just 20% of their total alliance size would’ve been enough to outnumber us 2 to 1 but they only managed to get around 500-600 people on the field which means it was pretty much a tie in terms of numbers.

IT was there to defend their SBU’s and they did attempt to but had to leave the field every time they engaged, I don’t know if it was the lack of morale, shortcomings of the FC or something else, but it was clear that they weren’t doing too well.

evenews24 seems to back this up by reporting the following “35Bil isk was recorded lost from IT & Allies versus the 17Bil lost by the Deklein Coalition”, that means that IT has lost more than twice the ISK than the DekCo did.

After IT fled the system the caps joined in and we quickly took care of the SBU’s, and after this a foolish move by SirMolle was reported, and from what I understand this mistake has already been made once in the past.

Basically the entire IT fleet docked up in one station, which meant we just needed part of our force to camp them at their location and the rest could run rampant around Fountian.

Now I don’t know how much damage we did during this part of the op as I was already on the train back home, but I’m sure evenews24 or evereport will report on this.

The Myrmidon Struggle

By Xeross Posted in EVE Online, Pew Pew Comments (2)

Yes the title is odd but I couldn’t think of anything better, now lets continue with the post itself shall we.

So we are hanging out on Ventrilo, some of us roaming, some of us watching our ships spin in the lights of the docking ramp when one of our corp mates yells he has found a target. a Myrmidon.

So a few of us join fleet and rally up while he is trying to catch this myrm, we make sure we stay 1 system behind the myrm and our corp member to trick the myrm pilot into thinking he’s only being attacked by one lone Jaguar.

However after flying some systems out the myrm pilot decided to head back, part of our group jumped out of system before he came back but I had to stay to avoid suspicion.

After this I get work the myrm pilot is at a plex, and that it warped of when my corp mate entered the deadspace pocket. I decided to warp to the acceleration gate and wait for the myrm to come back, which he quickly did.

As soon as the myrm landed I had him webbed and pointed however due to me being poorly positioned near the accel. gate I kept bumping into it, and just as one of my corp mates landed (The one in the Jaguar) and got a secondary point my Rifter popped.

After this I rushed back to our home system to grab my rupture, the Jaguar was able to hold the myrm down while avoiding damage, in the meantime more corp members arrived at the scene and started to pop the drones.

After arriving at the station and getting my Rupture I managed to get back to the system the myrm was in with 50% armor left (Gate guns), and we managed to take it down a while after that, it turned out it was shield tanked so it took quite a way to chip away the shields.

Now these are the kinds of fights we want, capable opponents, not people in noob frigs.

Xeross out.

Gank Report: 15/8/112 YC

By Xeross Posted in EVE Online, Pew Pew Comments (1)

So after our successful roam, we decided to go on a suicide gank, Hellfleet had a nice amount of stocked up destroyers so they were handed out and we formed up near the gate.

After everyone was there (Which took a while) we headed on out into high-sec into a system one of the other recruits knew had a shitton of miners in it.

Our scout and warp-in positioned himself and we jumped in, warped at 10 and we accidentally the entire hulk, so my first suicide gank was a fact (And a lot of fun).

So while waiting out the GCC one of us decided to check the belt and it turned out there was a huge amount of CONCORD in the belt, so I decided to check it out and take some screenshots.

After the other recruit wanted to do another run but most of us were tired and it was already past midnight (Hence why this happened on the 15th and the roam on the 14th) and we decided to call it a day.

So I’m having a lot of fun with Hellfleet, however the current bashing of IRC in the dronelands is also pretty enjoying, so this will be a tough decision to make.

Roam Report: 14/8/112 YC

By Xeross Posted in EVE Online, Pew Pew Leave a Comment

So another roam with Hellfleet, we waited for everyone to ship up, had some discussions on how to refit my cruiser without a remote rep, and took off.

So we started to roam towards a null-sec entrypoint, and on our way we passed through the Tusker HQ, we thought they were following us but it was just a lone wanderer.

After a while we arrived in the destination entrypoint system, however there was a big gatecamp on the out gate so we decided to head back.

After this we decided to continue but a Morsus Mihi fleet came through with Vuk Lau in it (Probably leading it), so the fleet warped for shelter, and I decided to just hang outside the station as they’re blue to me.

After this we wanted to continue further but a Rooks and Kings T3 roaming gang was heading our way so we decided to head back toward our HQ.

While we were heading back we caught a Blackbird on a gate and decided to engage it, the Blackbird went down pretty quickly (No killmail yet) and my armor was holding up just fine even with the gate guns.

After this a Pilgrim warped in and we managed to web and scram him too, however when he was almost down a bright light appeared and a Wyvern hotdropped on top of us.

We decided to see if we could get the Pilgrim because the Wyvern takes forever to lock anyways, however me being a wuss warped out too soon, and the rest also warped out before we got the Pilgrim, it had about 30% structure left.

After this we safed up and got a report of a Drake in a belt (He was probably ratting or something) we engaged him, and then pinned him down once his shield was down seized fire and attempted to ransom.

However our friendly neighbourhood Drake pilot was a bit slow, whether his English was bad or he was just panicking out, he didn’t have enough money for the ransom, so we asked him to eject, he waited to long so we popped him.

After we popped him it turned out he did want to eject from the Drake but he was too slow. After this we held and ransomed his pod which still got us 10m ISK (2m ISK each), a small ransom but still a successful (And my first) one.

After this we decided to continue heading back to HQ and dock up, however after this someone came with the idea to try a suicide gank, so after some setting up we headed on out.

Roam Report: 13/8/112 YC

By Xeross Posted in EVE Online, Pew Pew Leave a Comment

As you can read in my previous post I’ve applied for Hellfleet and I’ve been invited to fleet up and roam around with them, so here’s a report of the latest one.

When I joined the fleet I had no idea what we were doing, all I knew was what the mandatory fitting was (cruiser, remote armor reppers and some other stuff).

So when the briefing started it turned out as a sort of remote repping course, the basics were explained and after that we set out learning while we were roaming about.

As soon as we undocked someone immediately managed to get gate aggro by remote repping someone else, resulting in a perfect training environment of the gate guns rotating targets and us keeping up with them.

After this we continued to roam about with the gate guns still aggressive to us so the learning continued.

After a while we managed to spot what I think was a Zaelot, we warped back and forth between gates at 100km for a while however he kept warping to the gate at 0.

After the last warp he started approaching us, and we decided to approach him, we locked him up and started orbiting, while keeping a close look on our watch list to make sure no one would get blown up.

After a while it became apparent we weren’t going to break his tank (Cruisers don’t do that much damage), and one of us even died because we ran out of cap.

After this the Zaelots friends warped in so we decided to jump. After this we somehow encountered them again, however this time some of us had trouble warping out and didn’t survive.

Finally we decided to dock up to refit, however as everyone was getting a bit tired we decided to call it a day and go home.

So my first steps into the realms of remote repping, it’s quite hard to keep up with the RRing while still putting up a fight, however it’s powerful so good thing I get some experience with it.

Battle Report: 8/8/112 YC

By Xeross Posted in EVE Online, Pew Pew Leave a Comment

A system of one of your friends had come under attack and SBUs have been placed, the op would start at 22:00 EVE time or 0:00 local time for me.

We formed up and bridged into the target area, jumping around for a little before jumping into the target system.

When we finally headed into the target system local was quickly rising to about 900 people, of which possibly 600-700 were NC.

We engaged the enemy fleet, and the lag was bad as usual, but with the node reinforcement it was about 5 minutes of module lag on average.

After fighting for about I think an hour the enemy fleet decided it was time to leave, and we pointed and killed as many of  ‘em as we could, however due to the lag the amount of kills I made was limited.

After that it was just a matter of taking down the SBU which took way too long to even be remotely entertaining, and after that head home.

The journey home was pretty calm too, there was 1 red fleet but only a few of the slower people got caught by that.

The main fleet did try to engage them but as it was around 3am I decided I’d just speed home and go to bed. Even though we had lag and the SBU take down was boring I had fun, so all in all, another successful event in my opinion.
